Mrs. W. A. Heffernan Rites Set Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. Walter A. Heffernan, mother of Paul M. Heffernan, director of the Georgia Tech School of Architecture, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Spring Hill. Rev. Dow Kirkpatrick will officiate. Burial will be at Crest Lawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Heffernan, 81, died Wednesday at her home, 166 Fifth St., NW.
The former Laura Bethuram, she was born in Millersburg, Ill., and had lived in Atlanta 15 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She was the widow of Walter A. Heffernan.
Also surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Hancock, Atlanta.
Laura married Walter A. HEFFERNAN, son of Maurice HEFFERNAN and Elizabeth SIMS, on 26 Dec 1906 in Platteville, Grant, Wisconsin. (Walter A. Walter and Laura lived in Chicago but moved when they had children so their children wouldn't be raised in a big city. Virginia said she would like to say she's from Chicago rather than a "wide spot in the rode" (Lovilia, Iowa).
