Mrs. Laurie Bathurm died at her home near Millerburg Monday, January 15th. This death was the termination of a very painful illness, the end of weary years of suffering with consumption. Laurie M. Bridgford was born in Millersburg, August 21, 1853, and was the youngest daughter of W. A. and Nancy W. Bridgford. She was married in October, 1872, to Harrison Barthurm. To this union was born six children. The first died in infancy: the living are: Nancy, Daisy, Laurie D., Victor H. and Walter. She took sick four years ago and has been confined to her bed most of the time until death came to relieve her of her suffering and pain. She was conscious to the last and the end was peaceful and quiet. She passed away in full faith and belief of a blessed immortality. The creaved husband and children and sorrowing relatives have the sympathy of this community. Beside the immediate family one brother, Capt. O. A. Bridgford, and three sister are left to mourn. Two sisters, Mrs. Hunt of Argentine, Kansas, and Mrs. Ashbaugh of Osage City, Kansas, were with her during the last hours. The funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 o'clok at the house, Rev. H. O. Birch officiating. Interment in the Millersburg cemetery.
