Walter Goode Taken by Death
Walter S. Goode, 52 years old, who was born in Washington and lived most of his life here, died last night at ten o'clock in the state hospital at Mt. Pleasant, where he had been receiving treatment the last four years. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon at the L. A. Jones funeral home, in charge of Rev. Carl W. Kleta, with burial in Elm Grove cemetery. Walter Goode was a son of John and Elisabeth (Bethuram) Goode, and was born in Washington April 1, 1890. He was reared in this community and attended the Washington schools. He was an accomplished musician and played a horn in Washington bands for a number of years. He also played to well known orchestras and bands until compelled to give up this work because of illness. He had been in poor heatlh since 1912. Surviving him are his mother and two brothers, Arthur and Bruce of Washington and six sisters; Mrs. Blanche Ruedy of Burlingame, Calif., Mrs. Grace Norris of Furson, Iowa, Mrs. Chales Kirkbride and Mrs. M. L. Thompson of San Mateo, Calif., Mrs. Frank Anderson of Fresno Calif., and Mrs. Elsie King of North English, Iowa.
