Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Minteer, 78, of Millersburg, were held at 2 p.m. today at the Millersburg Presbyerian church, Rev. Charles Johnson, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Minteer died early Monday evening, Oct. 5, 1953, at Mercer County Hospital. Burial was in Millersburg cemetery under teh direction of Sherrard's chapel, Aledo.
Pallbearers were Lee Thornton, Fred Mtichell, Ralph Jones, Willet Downey, Lyle Bridgford, and Floyd Duncan. Mrs. Willet Downey and Mrs. Arthur Johnson sang, accompanied by Mrs. Harley Brown.
She was born Oct. 12, 1875, at Millersburg, a daughter of James and Amelia Burgess. On Feb. 7, 1914, she was married to William Minteer. He died in 1933.
She was an early member of the Millersburg Methodist chruch, and upon its dissolution, joined the Presbyterian church at Millersburg where she was a memeber at the time of her death. She resided her entire life in the Millersburg vicinity.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Her parents, husband, three brothers, and one sister preceded her in death.
Surviving are five step-children: Ernest Minteer, Lyle Minteer, and Mrs. Virgil Struble, all of Aledo; Mrs. Florence Ramden, Rock Island; and Mrs. Hilton Gripple, Columbus Junction, Iowa.
