Mrs. Peter Tubbs Dies at Seymour
Seymour - Mrs. Peter Tubbs, 92, who settled with her husband in this community when three houses marked the beginning of the city of Seymour, died at 8:45 this morning at her home after a long illness.
Survivors numbering 101, including two great great grandchildren, are listed for Mrs. Tubbs, who was born August 12, 1848, in Neosha, Dodge county, and came to this vicinity with her husband in 1868, when the nearest post office and trading post were in Appleton.
She and her husband occupied the Woodland farm north of Seymour in 1921. The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1916.
Mrs. Tubbs was the last surviving charter member of the Seymour Methodist church. She was a member of the Ladies Aid society of the church, the Women's Relief Corps, and the American Legion auxiliary.
Survivors are four sons, Lloyd, George, Herbert, and Frank, Seymour; six daughters, Miss Eleanor Tubbs, Mrs. Carrie Carter, Mrs. Flora Blanshan, Mrs. Lenora Hillegas, Seymour; Mrs. Mary Nickel, Mrs. Phoebe Steward, Green Bay; 45 grandchildren; 63 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon at the Seymour Methodist church, with burial in the Seymour City cemetery. The body will be at the residence from Tuesday morning until Wednesday morning when it will be taken to the church.


Phebe married Peter Stillman Cotrell TUBBS, son of Jacob TUBBS and Clymena Helena COTRELL, on 4 Jan 1866 in Neosho, Dodge, Wisconsin.
